Jeffrey's Bay main beach was reopened on Wednesday, after a minor sewer spill near the beach on Tuesday.
The pipe overflowed onto Dolphin beach, the resort's main swimming area. The pump station near the beach had previously given problems, the influx of visitors made the situation worse.
The municipality says the pumps have been replaced and there is no danger to bathers.
.
However, business owners are still worried.
“If this continues it will chase away customers and it will leave a smell and people won't want to be exposed to such," says Rein Els from Jolly Dolphin.
