Two Pick 'n Pay branches and a Cassies take-away outlet were robbed in Port Elizabeth in three separate armed robberies on Monday morning.
A Supermarket employee was injured in one of the incidents when one shot was fired.
Police spokesperson, Captain Johann Rheeder, says one of the Pick 'n Pay robberies happened at a shopping centre in Summerstrand.
He says five suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
A shot was fired and an employee wounded, but Rheeder said no further details were available.
The Pick 'n Pay store in Walmer Park was also robbed on Monday morning.
Rheeder says a suspects threatened the store manager, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No shots were fired.
He says the Cassies outlet in Durban Road, Korsten, was robbed by three men on Monday morning.
He says police are following up on leads, and they view these as seperate incidents, which cannot be linked at this stage.
