PORT ELIZABETH - SHAUDERVILLE MAN CAUGHT FOR SIDWELL PETROL STATION SHOP ROBBERY

A 23-year-old Shauderville man will appear in the New Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 18 February 2016 on a charge of robbery.

It is alleged that at about 02:00 this morning, 6 men entered a shop at a service station in Commercial Road Sidwell. Two men approached the counter while the others dawdled around the shop. The two men went behind the counter and threatened the complainant. They helped themselves to cash, cigarettes, chocolates and soft drinks. SAPS Gelvandale members responded to the complaint immediately and patrolled the borders of Algoa Park and Gelvandale. The six suspects were spotted on a road between the two areas. When they saw police approaching, they scattered in different directions. One suspect was arrested and found in possession of the stolen items. He was detained at SAPS Algoa Park on a charge of robbery.
