A registered nurse, Lulama Cabela, who is accused of aborting 25 foetuses and disposing of the bodies, has been released on warning.
She appeared briefly in the Port Elizabeth magistrate’s court on Wednesday.
Cabela was re-arrested earlier this week for allegedly not adhering to her bail conditions.
During court proceedings, defence attorney Theuns Roelofse said Cabela misunderstood her bail conditions, which included 24 hours of house arrest.
The state subsequently withdrew the charge of breaking bail conditions against Cabela and she was released.
She and her co-accused will be back in court on the 12th of May.
The nurse and her receptionist, Babalwa Cabela, are facing 25 counts of concealment of birth.
