During a raid, two of the business robbery suspects were found in possession of two firearms and a stolen white Chevrolet Aveo that was reported to be stolen five days ago. An illegal tavern in Madikizela Street, Kwanobuhle was closed and liquor (82 litres) valued over R 2 000 was confiscated. Fifteen houses, brewing concoction, were also visited and over 400 litres of vile concoction was destroyed.
The five suspects will appear before the Kwanobuhle Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 25 April 2016 on charges ranging from business robbery to possession of stolen vehicle and possession of unlicensed firearm.
In a separate incident, today at about 5am, police received information from a concerned resident of suspects allegedly stripping a VW Fox of parts in an open space near Jonas Street, Kwanobuhle. The suspects fled before police arrived at the scene and the vehicle was recovered with only the wheels and few parts missing.
