PORT ELIZABETH - 2 ALLEGED GANG MEMBERS ARRESTED FOR MURDER THS WEEKEND BY PE GANG TASK TEAM

Two men, suspected gang members, were arrested on Friday morning 2016-05-20 in The Northern Areas by the investigating officer from the Gang Task Team in connection with two unrelated murders.

A 27 year old suspect was arrested re the murder of Donovan Barry (47) on 03 May 2016 in Barberry Street, Extension 31, Bethelsdorp and a 26 year old suspect was arrested for the murder of Loyiso Mjiyako (33) on 09 February 2016 in Old Uitenhage Road, Kleinskool and for attempted murder where two persons were injured during the murder of Loyiso  Mjiyako.

Both the suspects will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates' Court on Monday 2016-05-23.

Since the launch of Operation Lockdown, the communities have volunteered vital information to the police and many arrests have been effected as a result of the positive information provided.
