The Springboks put in an inspired second half performance to beat Ireland at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The Boks won 32-26 after trailling 19-3 at half-time.
The Boks scored four tries through replacements Ruan Combrinck and Warren Whiteley, lock Pieter-Steph du Toit and centre Damian de Allende. Flyhalf Elton Jantjies landed three conversions and two penalties.
Ireland, who played flawless rugby for the majority of the match and looked on course to seal to the three-Test series after last weekend's 26-20 victory at Newlands, replied with tries by lock Devon Toner and No 8 Jamie Heaslip. Flyhalf Paddy Jackson added both conversions and a four penalties.
With the series locked at 1-1, the teams will do battle in Port Elizabeth next Saturday to settle matters.
