Yesterday, 28 September 2016, Search And Rescue members, Warrant Officer Marx (East London K9), Warrant Officer Gerber (Port Elizabeth K9), Constable Katikati (Mthatha K9) and Constable van Vuuren (Elliot K9) recovered the body of a Lesotho soldier, in the mountains bordering Lesotho and RSA near Maluti.
The body was found by members of SANDF and NIU. The search and rescue members conducted the the recovery of the body with the assistance of the Lesotho Defence Force chopper.
Role-players involved included Lesotho Police, SANDF, SAPS, Lesotho Defence Force and Military Intelligence and Special Task Force. The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Ntshinga, visited the scene and commended the team for their efforts.
