Last night five suspects aged between 17 and 25 years were arrested by Bethelsdorp Vispol members. While patrolling ext 31in Bethelsdorp, members noticed a Toyota Corolla with 5 occupants.
Due to the number of people in the car, the officers decided to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle was cornered in Biscuit Street. The driver was seen opening the door and dropping a firearm .
All five suspects detained on unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
An Astra pistol and 8 rounds were seized. The Toyota Corolla was also confiscated.
