EASTERN CAPE - UITENHAGE POLICE NEED YOUR HELP AFTER 30 ANGORA GOATS SLAUGHTERED AND STOLEN

The Uitenhage Stock Theft Unit are appealing to the broader community of the Eastern Cape to assist with information regarding to the theft or slaughtering of livestock and the buying or selling of meat that was not processed through an abattoir.

 The Uitenhage Stock Theft Unit are currently investigating a case that was reported on Monday, 13 February 2017, where 30 young angora ewe throats were cut.  The carcasses were dragged up to the tar road, from where it was loaded into an unknown vehicle for transportation.  The value of the slaughtered goats are about R45 000-00.

The incident occurred during the early hours of 13 February 2017 and it was discovered at about 06:00 the morning by one of the farmworkers on a farm in the Kirkwood area.  The farmgate, which was locked with a chain and lock, was found open.
