PORT ELIZABETH - MAN'S BODY, WITH GUNSHOT WOUNDS TO THE HEAD, FOUND IN KORSTEN FIELD

The Provincial Gang Investigating Unit is looking into the brutal murder of a Port Elizabeth man who was found shot to death in a field in Korsten.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the body of a man, aged between 35 and 40,

was found lying  in an open field next to Allan Hendricks flats in Durban Road, Korsten.

“The deceased had several gunshot wounds to the head.  Police suspect that the deceased may have been running from the suspect/s as he was cornered between a fence and a wall,” Naidu said

“The motive for the incident is presently unknown and at this stage police are still investigating whether the shooting is gang related or not,” Naidu said.

“The murder is been investigated by the Provincial Gang Investigation Unit. The deceased is still not known and police are appealing to anyone who may know the deceased or may know anything relating to the incident to contact Lt Col Mike Grobler on 082 442 1825,” she said.
