A Booysen Park man was shot dead yesterday morning.The bullet-riddled body of Morne van Aswegen, 25, was found outside a house in the Vastrap area at about 4am.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said Van Aswegen had ties to a gang.
The provincial gang investigation unit was looking into his murder.
“It is alleged Van Aswegen left a friend in a shack to go and buy cigarettes at about 4am.
“Shortly thereafter, several shots were heard. The friend found Van Aswegen on the ground.”
He had sustained several gunshot wounds to his body.
