PORT ELIZABETH - DELIVERY MAN RISKS HIS LIFE CHASING DOWN ARMED SUSPECTS & ARRESTING ONE

A brave delivery man, who chased after robbery suspects in  Port Elizabeth on Wednesday, successfully apprehended one to make a citizens arrest in a side street.

Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says four men posing as customers entered an electrical business in Sutton Street in Sidwell and then left.

She says a few minutes later three of the men returned and held staff at gunpoint.

The 22-year-old complainant and other staff members were then ushered into the office.

Colonel Naidu says a cellphone and a bag believed to contain money were taken by the robbers.
As the suspect's fled the premises, the delivery man riding past on his motorbike saw one of them armed with a firearm.

He chased after them on his motorbike and managed to arrest one of them in Fowler Street.
The other two ran away.

The bag, which turned out to only contain keys,  was found in the possession of a 24-year-old suspect from Kwazakele
