A Hankey violent protest action ended on the third day. Today, Hankey Magistrate’s Court released eleven suspects (protesters) on R300 bail each, while the other two were released on R500 bail each yesterday. Their case was postponed to Thursday, 26 September 2019 for further investigation. The court provisionally withdrew charges against five suspects.
Today, around 3pm, community leaders including councillors convened a community meeting to address residents. After the meeting, people dispersed and the road was opened
