Eastern Cape police have arrested five suspects following a business robbery in Alexandria.
Spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender says the suspects entered a retail furniture store in the town on Friday and held the staff at gunpoint while items were removed from the store.
She says the suspects fled in a silver double cab bakkie.
Govender says with the assistance of the Licence Plate Registration camera system, the vehicle was confirmed to be travelling on the R72.
Following a high-speed chase, the vehicle, which turned onto a gravel road at Paterson, was stopped.
Govender says four suspects, who attempted to flee on foot, were apprehended and a fifth suspect was arrested inside the vehicle.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
