Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga's vigilance led to the arrest of a 61-year-old man for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga was on his way home this afternoon when he saw a suspicious truck on N2. He called the nearby Police Station for back up and they tried to stop the truck.
Upon searching the vehicle and the driver, police recovered a revolver and five live ammunition. On further investigation it was discovered that the firearm was stolen in Port Elizabeth in 2009.
The driver was immediately arrested and charged for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The suspect will appear at Zwelitsha Magistrate Court soon.
