PORT ELIZABETH - MAN KILLED AFTER BEING SHOT SEVERAL TIMES THROUGH HIS FRONT DOOR

A 23-year-old male was fatally wounded when an unknown male fired through an open door of his shack. It is alleged that at about 21:45 on 23 November 2019, Virgil Fortuin was in his shack at Danny Jordaan informal settlement Bloemendal watching TV with his girlfriend.

The front door was ajar and the security gate was locked. Someone from outside called him but he didn't go outside. As he stood up, several shots were fired through the door. He sustained two gunshot wounds to his body and died on the scene.

The motive and suspect is unknown and a case of murder is under investigation.
