PORT ELIZABETH - POLICE MINISTER, BHEKI CELE, COMPLETES SAFER FESTIVE SEASON INSPECTION TOUR OF NELSON MANDELA BAY

The Police Minister, Bheki Cele  tagged along the Port Elizabeth SAPS as part of his #SaferFestiveSeason inspection tour of Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.

"Your job is to protect and serve - instill hope to the law abiding citizens of SA. Make sure that all criminals are restless wherever they are. Defend your life and those of your partners and other members and the community," Cele said to the police at the Gelvandale track.

"Do not abuse the tools of trade given to you. We shall not hesitate to act against those who transgress from the SAPS Code of Conduct. Thank you for the good job that you have done so far. I am pleased with the successes presented to me thus far."

From meeting and greeting people at Kenako Mall, along with the SAPS band to joining a roadblock and overseeing SAPS activity around the Bay ending with Cele engaging beach goers at Kings Beach.

He interacted with holidaymakers as he strolled together with the PE SAPS Mounted Unit on the promenade.
