Detectives at SAPS Kabega Park are appealing to anyone who can assist in identifying and tracing the next of kin of a man who drowned in Kini Bay in November 2019.According to police information, on 07 November 2019 at about 06:00, workers cleaning the beach spotted a male, approximately 30 years old, walking into the sea in Kini Bay and he never came out. At about 11:00 the same day, his body washed ashore.
At the time of the drowning, he was wearing blue jeans and a black jacket. It was established through enquiries in the area that the deceased may be a vagrant as he was seen often walking in Seaview and Kini Bay.
Anyone who may know him or his next of kin is asked to contact D/WO Bertus Blom at SAPS Kabega Park on 082 303 0064 or 041 397 6833 or the nearest police station. An inquest docket is opened.
