CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - 16 APRIL 2020 - EASTERN CAPE HAS 4 DEATHS & 9 RECOVERIES AS SA TOPS 2605 CONFIRMED CASES
In the latest figures from the Department of Health, the Eastern Cape now has 220 confirmed COVID-19 cases while South Africa's numbers rise to 2605.
According to the Health Department Gauteng still leads with the most recorded cases at 969 with 6 deaths while the Eastern Cape at 220 cases has registered 4 deaths already.
Earlier today National Institute for Communicable Diseases or NICD said that recent data has shown that the elderly members of our communities are the most at risk of contracting COVID-19.
The President has called on South Africa’s elderly to be especially cautious during this time.
