CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - 8 APRIL 2020 - 18 COVID-19 FATALITIES AND CONFIRMED CASES RISE BY 96 TO 1845

Five more COVID-19 deaths have been reported in South Africa.

This takes the number of coronavirus related fatalities in the country to 18.

There are currently 1,845 COVID-19 cases in South Africa, an increase of 96 from the previous day.

Gauteng (782) leads with the number of cases followed by the Western Cape (495) and KwaZulu Natal (354).

63,776 people have been tested for the virus in South Africa.
