PORT ELIZABETH - DRIVER GUNS DOWN ROBBER WHO THREW A STONE AT HIS CAR WINDOW

SAPS Humewood detectives is appealing to a person who allegedly shot and killed an alleged robber late last night, 21 May 2020, in Park Drive in central to contact them urgently.

It is alleged that at about 23:20, the driver of a white VW Polo was seated in his car in Park Drive when he was approached by two males. 

The 31 year old male approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and demanded that he open the window. 

When the driver refused, a stone was thrown at the window. 

It is further alleged that the driver got out of the vehicle through the front passenger door and started firing at the suspects.  

The 31 year old sustained multiple gunshot wounds while the other male ran off.

The driver of the VW Polo drove off. 

The deceased person was found lying in front of a black BMW which was driven by him prior to the incident. 

Next of kin of deceased is yet to be informed.

A case of murder is under investigation. Police is appealing to the driver of the VW Polo or anyone who may know the driver to contact D/W/O Johan Raubenheimer on 074 430 6048 or SAPS Humewood on 041 504 5019 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
