Police are investigating a case of hijacking after three men allegedly targeted a courier van in KwaNobuhle yesterday.
On Monday, 22 June 2020 at about 16:15, a driver of a courier service van alleged that he stopped at Mgolodela Street, KwaNobuhle (Uitenhage) with his assistant to deliver a parcel.
He further said that three men accosted them and one of the suspects had a firearm in his hand and demanded vehicle’s keys.
The three men then jumped into the van and sped off.
Moments later, police recovered the courier van abandoned in an open field with no parcels inside near Philemon Kona Street, KwaNobuhle.
It was also said that there were about 36 parcels inside the van that were awaiting delivery.
Police are following all leads and anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of suspects is urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Deon Arnolds at 082 779 7277 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.
