PORT ELIZABETH - PE MAGISTRATES COURT SENTENCES MAN FOR COMMITTING FRAUD AND THEFT TO THE VALUE OF ALMOST R1.5 MILLION
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation has welcomed the conviction of Morne Pretorious (37) by the Port Elizabeth Magistrate court on Wednesday for theft and fraud.
Whilst employed Supply 5 Pty (LTD), a company which supplies wood boards, Pretorius stole stock during March 2017 and October 2018 and sold it in his personal capacity utilising his private companies Prismo SC online and Ubuntu Supply.
The matter was reported to the Serious Commercial Crime Investigation who on 02 October 2019 arrested Pretorius for theft of R1 479 520 of stock.
He was granted R5 000 bail. On Wednesday he was found guilty and Pretorius will have to until 06 November 2020 to know his fate.
