PORT ELIZABETH - BOBANI STILL ON VENTILATOR BUT HEALTH IS "IMPROVING"

Nelson Mandela Bay head of infrastructure, Mongameli Bobani's condition is improving but he still on a ventilator after being hospitalised for covid-19 last week.

His lawyer, Danie Gouws says Bobani’s doctor is, however, concerned about one of his lungs.

Gouws, who was appointed by Bobani's wife to speak on behalf of the family, says despite these concerns he seems to be recovering well.

The Former mayor was admitted to St George’s Hospital last week Tuesday after suffering from shortness of breath.

He tested positive for covid-19 on Wednesday.

Nelson Mandela Bay councillors were also requested to do a covid-19 test last week Friday as they had a special council meeting at the Feather Market Hall a few days before Bobani fell ill.
