PORT ELIZABETH - SEARCH OF SUSPICIOUS CAR IN WALMER LEADS TO DISCOVERY OF STOLEN PROPERTY

Two suspects were arrested by police during the early hours of this morning, 16/10 and suspected stolen property recovered. .


It is alleged that at approximately 02:55 while police were busy patrolling the Walmer area, they attended to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in 10th Ave, Walmer.  

The members noticed a white Toyota Tazz with two occupants and requested backup. 

While waiting for backup, they stopped the vehicle. 

The passenger jumped out of the vehicle and ran away. 

The driver was arrested and upon searching the vehicle, suspected stolen property was found in the vehicle. Port Elizabeth K9 members patrolled Water Road, Walmer in search of the fleeing suspect.  

In the vehicle a TV, DSTV decoder, duvet set and other items were found.

Both suspects aged 34 was detained on charges of possession of suspected stolen property and will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate Court on Monday 19/10.
