Nathan van der Westhuizen (36), David Roberts (58) and Nerve Nick Free (18) appeared in the East London Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 4 August 2021 for allegations of dealing in drugs.
Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) in East London in conjunction with Crime Intelligence Gathering (CIG) East London Cluster conducted an intelligence-driven operation in response to information received that suspects were selling Mandrax tablets and Tik from their residence in the Buffalo flats area.

Upon execution of the search warrant at the residence, the main suspect is reported to have flushed some exhibits down the toilet but were later retrieved. 302 Mandrax tablets and 155 straws of Tik with a street value of R9 600 as well as R17 380 cash were seized during the operation.
The trio was charged for dealing in drugs and were each released on R500 bail. The matter was remanded to 29 September 2021.
