EASTERN CAPE - STOLEN PATERSON COWS FOUND SLAUGHTERED IN THE BACK OF A BAKKIE

Swift response to information by SAPS Paterson Vispol, Crime Prevention and Detective members resulted in the arrest of 5 suspects aged between 27-52 years old for alleged stock theft.


It is alleged that on Thursday, 19 August 2021 at about 15:05, members received and followed up on information that a red lsuzu bakkie with a white canopy had stolen 2 cows from a farm in Paterson and that the animals already had been slaughtered. 

The team were informed that the suspects were on route to Paterson.

Soon after responding to the information the vehicle was stopped and tactically approached on the N10 road, at the Paterson and Addo crossing. 

The meat of the slaughtered cows was recovered from the back of the bakkie.

The suspects were arrested on a charge of stock theft and are due to appear before Alexander Magistrate’s Court soon.
