A 54-year-old attempted murder suspect was arrested soon after the complainant opened a case today, 9 August 2021.
It is alleged that on Saturday, 7 August 2021 at about 23:30, the complainant and a friend were inside her residence in Khama Street, Kwanobuhle when she heard a knock on the door.
The complainant immediately recognised her boyfriend’s voice and told him that she was not going to open the door as it was late.
It is further alleged that her boyfriend broke a window and entered the house.
The complainant was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend with an axe.
The victim sustained several lacerations to her head, face and body and was taken for medical attention.
SAPS Kwanobuhle detectives arrested the suspect at 11:00 this morning at his house in Kwanobuhle.
The suspect is due to appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrates’ court tomorrow, Tuesday, 10 August 2021 on a charge of attempted murder.
