Police found a White VW Transporter vehicle in Smith Street, Richmond Hill just after midnight at about 00:30 this morning.
On searching the vehicle and questioning the driver of the vehicle, it was discovered that the driver was using the vehicle without the consent of the owner, as the owner of the vehicle opened a case in Grahamstown earlier this month.
The 40-year-old driver was arrested and detained at Humewood SAPS, and the vehicle was subsequently confiscated and handed back to its rightful owner.
The suspect will be appearing before the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 29 September 2021.
