KARIEGA - 2 SUSPECTS CAUGHT AFTER ATTEMPTING TO ROB BREAD TRUCK

Quick response by SAPS Kamesh members led to the successful apprehension of two alleged robbers early on Monday morning, 25 October 2021




It is alleged that at about 08:50, SAPS Kamesh members responded to an armed robbery in progress where a bread truck was robbed at the corners of Korhaan and Lovebird Street. 

On arrival, police noticed two suspects fleeing on foot towards Kamesh Road, whilst two others got into a black Ford Fiesta and sped off.  

A foot chase ensued and the two suspects dropped their bags as they tried to evade being arrested.

 One suspect, aged 30, was arrested in Warbler Street and the second suspect, aged 24, was arrested inside a residence in Warbler Street.

Police confiscated dye stained cash, believed to have been taken from the bread truck as well as the tools utilized during the robbery. 

The two male suspects are due to appear in the Kariega Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 on a charge of armed robbery. 

The search for the outstanding suspects are continuing and more arrests are imminent.
