KARIEGA - MANHUNT LAUNCHED FOR SUSPECT WHO KILLED 2 PEOPLE AFTER SETTING A HOUSE ALIGHT IN BLIKKIESDORP

SAPS Kamesh detectives are on the hunt for a suspect who allegedly set a home alight in Oliver Street, Blikkiesdorp, Kariega, resulting in the death of two people during the early hours of this morning, 17 October 2021.

It is alleged that at about 00:22, six people were inside the house when the fire started. Some of the occupants managed to break down the back door and escaped.  

As a family friend aged 37-year-old went back into the house to rescue a 3-year-old boy, they were trapped and burned to death. 

The names of the victims will be released once formal identification is done.

The suspect is known and an arrest is imminent.

Cases of murder, attempted murder and arson is under investigation and the motive is yet to be established.
