SAPS Gelvandale detectives are seeking the communities assistance in tracing a 70-year-old Shauderville man who went missing on Friday night, 5/11.
According to police information, Essop Mahomed left a house in Gelvandale in his metallic gold Toyota Corolla, registration number FRT457EC. He never returned home. His vehicle was recovered, abandoned this afternoon, 7/11 at the Gamtoos River. It seems that he had run out of petrol and a tyre was also punctured.
Mr Mahomed suffers from Alzheimer’s and could have wandered off. A search party comprising of family, friends and police are out looking for him. Police will continue with the search tomorrow morning, 8/11.
An appeal is made to anyone who may have spotted him to contact SAPS Gelvandale on 041 4022050/4022018/19 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
