Missing Kabega Park woman, Bernadette January was found dead early this afternoon not far from the old age home where she resided.
It is alleged that on Thursday, 9 February 2023 at about 09:00 the 66-year-old woman from the Louise Dubb Old Age home in Kabega Park was dropped off near the Greenacres shopping mall on her way to Summerstrand to search for her son.
That was the last time anyone had seen her. Mrs January’s son was found in Forrest Hill and indicated that he had not seen his mother.
After conducting a thorough search of the area, at about 12:25, police found her partially decomposed body in bushes near the old age home.
No foul play is suspected.
An inquest docket is opened.
A post mortem will be done to ascertain the cause of death.
