GQEBERHA | KWAZAKHELE SUSPECT CAUGHT WITH FIREARM AND AMMO DURING RANDOM SEARCH

At about 21:15 on Saturday, 15 April 2023, while SAPS Kwazakele Crime Prevention members were patrolling in Maronga Street in Kwazakele, they stopped next to a group of unknown males who were walking in the street. 

Upon searching them, a firearm with two rounds of ammunition was found in a sling bag carried by one of the males. 

The 24-year-old male was arrested and detained on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and will appear in the New Brighton magistrate court on Monday, 17 April 2023
