On 20 May 2023 at about 17:00, a shepherd was walking in the bushy area along a foot path behind Eskom, next to the Uitenhage Airfield fencing when he came across the body of an elderly male.
The deceased was not wearing shoes.
He was wearing a greyish jacket, black track pants and a navy silky track pants underneath the black track pants.
He had a small laceration on his head.
A 2 metre stick was at his feet.
The body was found about 5km from the Kruisrivier area and on the top of the mountain.
This is also close to the Kwanobuhle residential area.
At this stage no foul play is suspected and police have opened an inquest docket. Anyone who can assist in identifying the deceased male or may know of his next of kin, is asked to contact, SAPS Uitenhage, D/W/O Deon Roos at 079 896 8148 or the nearest police station
