EASTERN CAPE - SUMMERSTRAND, UITENHAGE AND CRADOCK MEMBERS AWARDED WITH TOP HONOURS AT SAPS NATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Two Eastern Cape SAPS members were awarded with an array of honors at the Police’s third annual National Excellence Awards. This year, the gala event was held on Friday, 11 March 2015 at Sandton Convention Centre in recognition and honour of SAPS members, reservists and members of the Community Police Forums (CPF) who excelled and rendered distinguished service to the community.
The Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Celiwe Binta who attended the ceremony in Gauteng, congratulated all the members who were nominated for various categories and our two winners who made us very proud. “Winning is not about who gets the final prize. Being nominated is a great achievement on its own. This proves once again that the Eastern Cape Police has dedicated and professional police officials who can compete with the best in the country. I am equally proud of each of the winners and those who didn’t win but were nominated to represent our Province”, she said this morning.
“These awards bear testimony to the commitment and dedication of our fellow men and women in blue in the fight against crime. National Excellence Awards reflect well on the value of the South African Police Service as a vibrant organisation, and serves to acknowledge, reward and pay tribute to the excellent work done by the men and women in blue. I am extending words of appreciation from the office of the National Commissioner for the immense efforts that the members of the South African Police Service and Reservists put into the fight against crime against all odds”, said MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Ms Weziwe Tikana who attended the awards.
