The bail application of Port Elizabeth businessman Christopher Panayiotou will commence on Wednesday in the Magistrate's Court.
This is Panayiotou's second attempt to get bail, claiming he has new information. In his application he stated that his employee and state witness, Luthando Siyoli, initiated the plot to have his wife, Jayde, abducted and killed last year April.
Last week, the State also read out an emotional letter to the court which Jayde penned seven months before she was killed.
In the previous court proceedings, State advocate Marius Stander read a heart-felt letter written by Jayde months before her death.
In the emotional letter, she detailed that she longed for being loved by her husband and that he was hiding a lot of things from her.
Stander also argued that the defence did not present any new information in their affidavits.
Defence attorney Alwyn Griebenouw read Christopher Panayiotou's response to the State's version including affidavits by Panayiotou's parents.
In his affidavit, Panayiotou dismisses investigating officer Kanna Swanepoel's version of events and labelled Swanepoel a dishonest person who was misleading the court.
It is expected that both the defense and the State will close their heads of arguments on Wednesday.
