On 18 July 2016, the intervention team were doing stop and search operations in Bongo Street, Gelvandale when they arrested Rian Rademeyer (24 years) who is a suspect in an attempted murder case which took place on 15 July 2016.It is alleged that the complainant was standing at the corners of Deveril and Standford Roads when the suspect shot at him. Rademeyer appeared in court on 20 July and the case is remanded to 28 July 2016.
