PORT ELIZABETH - SECOND SUSPECT CHARGED WITH MURDER OF 12 YEAR OLD BETHELSDORP GIRL

Port Elizabeth police have arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of 12-year old Aliyah Tee in Bethelsdorp last month.

The girl died when gunmen stormed into her family's Bethelsdorp home on June 7th and opened fire.

Her father was wounded while her mother, reportedly the intended target, escaped unharmed.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says the 21-year old man was arrested on Friday evening by the intervention team at a house in Stuurman Street.

She says a 9mm pistol, thirty-three 9mm rounds, two cell phones and two SAPS bulletproof vests were confiscated.

The suspect is being detained and will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrates' court on Monday.

Last month, 23-year-old Deon Harmse, alias Kwas, was arrested for the murder of 47-year-old Donovan Berry in a gangland slaying, and was also charged with the murder of the 12-year-old girl.

He was remanded in custody, and will appear in court again on 21 July for both cases.
