Newly-inaugurated Mayor of Kouga Municipality in the Eastern Cape, Elza van Lingen says her administration will focus on service delivery.Van Lingen was elected in a council meeting in the Kruisfontein Civic Centre at Humansdorp on Friday.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) won the municipality that is made up by Jeffrey's Bay, Hankey and Humansdorp from the African National Congress (ANC).
Van Lingen says the municipality should be a tourism destination.
“We will have to step up on service delivery, Kouga service delivery is not good and will have to do maintenance of infrastructure. It is vital to the service delivery. The potholes do not leave a good image, so we'll have to clean Kouga up."
