PORT ELIZABETH - POLICE STONED AS MAN IS ARRESTED FOR KOBUS ROAD SHOOTING IN GELVANDALE

At about 15:00, while patrolling, members were alerted to a shooting in Kobus Street.

On immediately responding to the information, members of the Visible Gang Intervention Team spotted the suspect running away and chased after him.

The suspect (37 years) ran into a shop and threw a firearm behind the counter before fleeing once again. He was arrested in a yard in Kobus Street. A 7.65 pistol with ammunition was confiscated.

While executing the arrest, police members were stoned by the community.
