Port Elizabeth police have arrested two suspected hijackers near Bethelsdorp.
The PE Flying Squad received information about a stolen white VW Polo driving in San Souci Road towards Port Elizabeth on Thursday afternoon. Members spotted the vehicle in Old Uitenhage Road near Bethelsdorp and pulled it off. The two men inside the car were arrested and the vehicle was seized.
It is alleged that a man had just parked a vehicle inside his yard in Kwanobuhle near Uitenhage earlier in the day, when the suspects with firearms accosted him and threatened to shoot him, unless he gave them vehicle's keys.
The two men aged 22 and 33 will appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrate's Court on Monday, on charges of hijacking and possession of stolen property.VIA - algoafm.co.za / PIICTURE VIA - SA Police Service
