UITENHAGE - TEEN ARRESTED AFTER STABBING ANOTHER TO DEATH OUTSIDE BERGSIG SCHOOL

A teenager was stabbed to death outside a Uitenhage school yesterday. Dillon Davids, 17, was killed outside the Bergsig Special School, while he was waiting for a lift home.

The school made headlines in 2012 when a 16-year old pupil was beaten with an iron pipe outside the school, allegedly by a fellow pupil.

Yesterday afternoon, the police’s K9 unit and several officers were called in to assist with combing the bushes alongside Ross Gradwell Road, which borders the school. Police spokeswoman Captain Gerda Swart said Davids was stabbed in the chest during an argument.

A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and is expected to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court soon.
