Yesterday, 8 September 2016, the Grahamstown High Court sentenced the 36-year-old Elroy Welkom to life imprisonment for rape and murder of a 41-year-old victim.
The incident occurred on 5 April 2015, where the victim was raped and murdered next to the R335 (Addo/Kirkwood road). The accused was arrested the same day.
