Weekend operational successes:Operational Command Centre , Mount Road Cluster stations, SAPS Algoa Park, Bethelsdorp, Gevlandale

A total of eight (8) suspects were arrested for various crimes including
3 for robbery,
1 for Malicious Damage to Property,
1 x shoplifting,
2 x possession of drugs,
1 x drunken driving.

On Saturday, 25 March 2017, at about 14:40, a complainant was driving his taxi in Cleary Park when three unknown men signaled him to stop. The trio robbed the taxi driver at gun point and fled with cash. A passing police vehicle stopped and assisted the taxi driver after which he was taken to Algoa Park police station to open a case. The suspects were subsequently arrested by SAPS Algoa Park members and members from Visible Gang Intervention Team.


Several high density patrols as well as stop and search operations were held in Gelvandale and Bethelsdorp. During the stop and searches, dagga (bompies and loose dagga) was confiscated. Two people were arrested for possession of drugs.

SAPS Algoa Park also held operations at various suspected drug hotspots at Dolfyn, Kudu and Impala Flats as well as in Missionvale. Alcohol was confiscated
