EASTERN CAPE - 3 ARMED SUSPECTS ROB ELLIOT POST OFFICE AND FLEE WITH UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH

Police in Elliot are looking for three men who robbed the Post Office on Monday.

Spokesperson Captain Ursula Roelofse says it is alleged that the three men entered the Post Office in the late afternoon and approached the two security guards on duty.

She says the one suspect introduced himself as a police investigator and shook the hand of the armed guard.

Whilst shaking the hand, the second suspect grabbed the firearm and instructed them to enter the managers office.

Roelofse says there were also three customers in the Post Office at the time and they too were ordered into the office.

All the staff and customers were tied up with cable ties, except one cashier who was instructed to stack money into a bag.

The victims managed to untie themselves and alerted police.

The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are following up all leads and anybody with information that could help in the investigation is urged to contact SAPS
