EASTERN CAPE - SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED ALONG COASTLINE WITH RAIN ELSEWHERE THROUGHOUT SA


Severe thunderstorms are expected between Port St. John's and Port Alfred and the adjacent interior of the Eastern Cape on Wednesday.

Localised urban flooding is expected in places over the Free State and North West provinces, as provided by the South African Weather Service.


Gauteng will be partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers. The expected UVB sunburn index will be low.

It will be partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers in Mpumalanga. It will be warm over the Lowveld.

Limpopo will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme southwest.

The North West is expected to be cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the east.

It will be cloudy and cool to warm in the Free State, with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The Northern Cape is expected to be cloudy becoming partly cloudy and cool, but warm in the northeast. Morning showers and thundershowers are expected in the east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate.

It will be fine in the western parts of the Western Cape. Otherwise, it will be cloudy and cool to warm. It will become partly cloudy over the interior with isolated showers and rain. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh. The expected UVB sunburn index will be high.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be cloudy and cool, with scattered showers and thundershowers along the coast and adjacent interior. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and cool. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong.

Morning fog is expected over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal. Otherwise, it will be cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the extreme north. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh. The expected UVB sunburn index will be low.
