The Police in Mthatha are searching for two suspects who were reportedly firing random shots from their truck in Qumbu on Saturday.Spokesperson Captain Dineo Koena says the Tactical Response Team responded to the incident and chased the suspects.
She says they eventually jumped out of the truck and fled on foot.
Upon searching to truck police found an R5 rifle with 21 rounds of ammunition, 68 tablets, 102 sachets of tik, one cellphone and a pair of flip flops.
Koena says no arrests have been made.
Police have also confiscated the truck and will send the firearm for ballistic testing to see if it had been used in other crimes.
