PORT ELIZABETH - TIP OFF LEADS TO ARREST OF PERLEMOEN POACHERS ON MARINE DRIVE

On Monday, 20 May, Dark Water Ops, the Anti-abalone Poaching Unit, with the assistance from Port Elizabeth K9 Unit arrested 4 alleged abalone poachers at Noordhoek beach in Marine Drive.

The police acted on a tip-off and the poachers were subsequently arrested. Over 400 units of abalone were recovered. Diving equipment & vehicle was also seized at the scene.

The poachers are expected to appear in court soon.
